Arnaldo Antunes
Singer, songwriter, poet and avant-garde artist and member of supergroup Tribalistas
Arnaldo Antunes’ work has had a major impact on Brazilian pop culture over the last 40 years. He first rose to stardom in the 1980s as a founding member of the ground-breaking group Titãs, that mixed punk with pop and Tropicalia. He then embarked on a successful solo career and had his songs recorded by legends Caetano Veloso, Gilberto Gil, and Marisa Monte. With Monte and Carlinhos Brown he formed the supergroup Tribalistas, which released two blockbuster albums containing several timeless compositions. For this tour entitled “Lágrimas no Mar”, Antunes will perform in a voice and piano format for the first time, featuring new arrangements of hits from his entire career as well as new songs. This is a rare US tour by one of Brazil’s great artists.
Cortadito & Nestor Torres
The Buena Vista Social Club of Miami joined by GRAMMY winning flautist
Cortadito, one of the premier Cuban music groups in the US, joins forces with Latin legend and GRAMMY winner Nestor Torres. Known as the Buena Vista Social Club of Miami, Cortadito focuses on performing the traditional music of 20th century Cuba. From son montuno, guaracha and bolero, this dynamic ensemble brings you back to a time when Trio Matamoros, or Ignacio Piniero ruled the airwaves – a golden era when popular music across the world was Cuban music. Led by musicians Jose Elias and Julio Cesar Rodriguez Delet, the group has performed all over the US, including performances with Eliades Ochoa, original member of world-famous Buena Vista Social Club. International flute sensation Nestor Torres is known for his engaging, fiery and inspiring performances. Daniel Jobim presents an intimate show dedicated to the musical repertoire of his grandfather from whom he inherited his musical sensitivity and passion for Bossa Nova. The set list includes timeless classics like “Chega de Saudade”, “Waters of March”, “Corcovado”, “Passarim”, “Wave” and of course the iconic “Girl from Ipanema.” Daniel also features songs like “Dias Azuis”, a song he composed and recorded with Milton Nascimento, and “Bonita Demais”, co-written by Tom Jobim and Vinícius de Moraes, that was previously unreleased and was recorded by Daniel. With a soft voice and precise touch of the piano, the power of genetics leaves no doubt. Daniel Jobim will transport the audience to the golden years of Bossa Nova. Diogo Nogueira sings samba, the pulsating, wildly popular and joyous music synonymous with Brazilian culture. A multifaceted artist, Nogueira is a singer, composer, instrumentalist and also a TV and radio personality. Son of the legendary João Nogueira, he was nominated for the Latin Grammy for ALL of his seven albums and won the category “Best Samba Album” on two occasions. His discography has earned six Gold CDs, and three Gold, two Platinum and one Double Platinum DVD. Fernanda Abreu began her career with the band Blitz in the 1980s, a huge sensation that sold out stadiums throughout Brazil, including a historic show at the first edition of Rock in Rio in 1985. Marcos Ariel
Renowned pianist, singer and composer based in Los Angeles
“…Ariel revealed a major-league compositional talent. His vibrant works managed to combine the twists and turns of be-bop articulations with the soaring melodies of the samba”, said the Los Angeles Times. Since the ’70s, Marcos Ariel has dedicated himself to Brazilian instrumental music and jazz, reaching international status throughout the next decade. Ariel studied classical music in his childhood, being attracted to jazz later by the likes of Hermeto Pascoal and Chick Corea. He formed his first band, Grupo Usina, in 1978. His debut album, Bambu, was released in Brazil and France. In Brazil, it was awarded with the prestigious Chiquinha Gonzaga prize in 1983. In 1986, Ariel participated in São Paulo’s Free Jazz Festival, and in the next year, along with his participation in Rio’s edition of the same festival, he recorded the memorable Banda Zil with Ricardo Silveira, Zé Renato, and others. But it was Terra do Índio (1988) that projected him in the U.S., a country in which Ariel has been performing regularly ever since.

Marisa Monte holds a special position Brazil’s rich pop-music culture. She has always been a stand-out, an original, doing her own unique work at her own pace. She has sold millions of albums worldwide and is one of a very few Brazilian singers of her generation with an international audience. She was even named Rolling Stone Brasil’s most important living Brazilian singer. And yet her vision is highly original and her richly melodic, subtle and complex music is intrinsically Brazilian. Marisa Monte kicked off the Portas World Tour in the US in March 2022 when she SOLD OUT six shows, and 2 extra nights were added. Monobloco
The joyous energy of Rio de Janeiro carnaval comes to the US!
Monobloco is a “bloco”, or street band, that parades during carnaval in Rio de Janeiro and is also a professional touring band. The group became extremely popular by creating powerful cover versions of classic Brazilian songs, mostly outside of the samba genre. Classics by Tim Maia, Jorge Ben, Alceu Valença, and many others were transformed into samba anthems and attracted fans from a whole new generation. During the world-famous Rio de Janeiro carnaval Monobloco has its own parade, which today attracts over half a million people to the streets to dance and sing. The group’s popularity soon led to the creation of a professional touring band, which has toured extensively around Brazil and has also internationally, including at the London Olympics in 2012. The group has also released several live and studio albums including the 2010 release called “10”, which was nominated for a Latin GRAMMY for Best Samba/Pagode album.

Olodum
World famous percussion ensemble from Bahia that collaborated with Paul Simon and Michael Jackson
Founded in 1979 as an African “bloco” of the carnival in Salvador, Bahia, Olodum has become a highly successful touring and recording group, a social and cultural organization, and global icons. After their first run in 1980’s carnival, the band began to create songs with historic themes about African and Brazilian culture. The band’s first album “Egito, Madagascar” recorded in 1987 became famous with the song “Faraó, Divindade do Egito”. In 1991, Olodum performed at Paul Simon’s Concert in the Park after they had recorded on Simon’s 1990 album The Rhythm of the Saints. One of the biggest moments for Olodum was in 1996, when they participated in the Michael Jackson music video, “They Don’t Really Care About Us.”, which catapulted them into global fame. The Olodum live show is a joyous, pulsating and rhythmic celebration. The group also gives interactive and engaging percussion workshops.
